Part 1 of our Trip

We left home on the 19th of June for our summer vacation. I love summer because we can leave at dawn, drive for 15 hours and arrive at dusk. No night driving. Yeah!!!

Anyway, we drove to Salt Lake where we had intended on staying but the kids were doing so good that we continued our drive. We made it to Cedar City around 9 PM. The next day we started our Roberts Family Reunion. (Jake's mom's family) We had a lot of fun activities all planned at a great little park in Cedar. The kids had so much fun. There was a stream running through the park that most of the kids played in. Tyson was a little disappointed because he still had his cast on.

But he found a lot of other things to do and the kids kept him entertained. As you can see, he had a lot of fun.

Katie made a boat that she raced down the stream. She made a platform of Popsicle sticks and put two paper plates glued together on top of it. Then decorated it with feathers. Her boat was the only boat that stayed upright the entire race. The kids also make rubber band guns and edible campfires.

We also had races for everyone. Here is Tyson on the starting line. He ran the whole race but wasn't sure why! Jake took a turn and then Katie and I. It was the first time I had really run like that for a really long time.

Anyway, the next day was spent up the canyon until the weather forced up back to town. We had fun making water guns and visiting with family. That night we had a really fun dance and then Sunday ended the reunion with a family meeting about our fathers. Since it was fathers day and all.
The weekend was fun. We all stayed together in a great little hotel where we were able to play games and even had a fun birthday party for Whitney. All in all it was a great start to our vacation.
The Sunday afternoon began Part 2 of our trip. Jake headed up to Bryce Canyon with Phil for a couple days of fishing, and the kids and I drove down to St. George to see my family.
