Thanksgiving

Everyone that knows me knows how happy food makes me. So, Thanksgiving is probably the best holiday ever. I don't feel like such a crazy lady for making so much food. I absolutely love it!!! I think that I replace not having my family with food. I sure made enough for all of them!!!
This year we fried turkey's again. We ended up frying 5 turkeys. Not all for us but it was a full day event. It was really fun. This was our appetizers.......veggies, cheese balls, deviled eggs and shrimp cocktail. Yummy Yummy!! Desserts are my favorite. I ended up making a pumpkin cheesecake, lemon meringue pie, crumble topped pumpkin pie, banana cream pie, fudge, peanut brittle, Carmel brownies, cream puffs, and no bake cookies. It was so much fun for me.

And, besides 3 different flavor injected turkeys, we had Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (which was my first attempt and everyone said they were fabulous) fruit salad and rolls. I am getting full just typing all that again.
Well, we had a wonderful day. We had some old family friends come down from Coeur de'lane and then a couple waves of some of the guys from Jake's training team. It was funny.....the guys stopped by to eat, and had a full agenda of houses to stop at. I am sure they were sick by the end of the day. It just goes to show that if you can't be with your family of the big day, you might as well eat good! A motto I am going to stick too!
