4th of July!

Well, I am officially the worst photographer in the entire world. Yes, Katie takes better pictures then me. I think I just need to figure out my camera better. Anyway, this is the best I got.
We drove down to Idaho Falls on the 3rd to spend the 4Th with our family. We had a good drive and by the time we got there Tyson was so done with the car. We stopped by and say Kayla and Kenny, and Kami and Phil and then headed over to Aunt Karen's for the night. There neighbors were lighting off fireworks so Katie enjoyed watching them from the balcony. But, within minutes, her eyes were almost swollen shut. She had allergies in Idaho so bad. It was sad. But, she learned to swallow pills very quickly. Tyson was a little scared of the fireworks but was alright tightly held by mom or dad.
The next day we attend the parade in town. Jake loves parades, but as for me, I could pass on the whole experience. It was a good parade though and Katie had a blast.
Then we spend the afternoon at my cousin Jay's house. He has an amazing house and yard and invites everyone over for a BBQ every year. He orders fresh steaks and burgers from a butcher in town and they were wonderful. The kids had so much fun playing and Jake, as always, ended up making people cry. But, this time I think most of them asked for it. By know, everyone knows that rules of playing with Uncle Jake. But, the best part was Kami getting dunked in the little swimming pool and then attacking Jake again and ending up doing a back flip over him and landing on her head. It sounds awful, but so funny to watch. Nobody was hurt!!!
Then the boys all went to the movie while the rest of us napped, or tried to. Then off to the park for fireworks. All in all, it was a pretty good day.
Jake still has a little bit of a hard time watching the fireworks and realizing they are just fireworks and not actual attacks that were so close to home a couple years ago and upcoming here very quickly.
We are grateful for our freedom and those who protect us!!!
