Well, I haven't posted for awhile because I always think I don't have time to write everything I want. But, I just keep getting farther behind. So, I'll just post a couple things.
We had Katie's birthday in March and she asked for a monkey cake. Not really sure why but this what I came up with.
We just had a family birthday with Katie this year. She got a pair of heely's which she loves, and some new games for her didj system.
Tyson's birthday was on the 2nd of April and he got to have his first friend party. He chose to go bowling with his friends. It was fun for them. He wanted a monster truck cake so this is what I came up with.
It was really fun to make this one. The wheels are donuts covered in fondant. Jake made a wooden stand for the cake to set on and then he did the flames on the hood. I think it turned out pretty good.
On April Fool's Day I made these cupcakes. They are actually meatloaf with mashed potatoes on top. I totally trick Tyson and Katie. I kept telling them we were having cupcakes for dinner and they were so excited. But, when Tyson took a bite he was so mad!!! He did not find the joke funny at all. He still keeps talking about the meat cupcakes.
Other then that, things have just been normal. Jake is working hard and trying to certify. He leaves for the field this Saturday for 5 days. He is looking forward to that.
I got to take a class downtown at the Kitchen Engine about chocolate mousse and strawberries. It was fun. I have made tuxedo strawberries before but I learned how to make chocolate mousse and can't wait to try it.

Can I steal that cupcake idea? That is sooooo great! I may have to sneak a few other healthy things into that one! So cute!
You're so crafty with the cakes, they are super cute! And I laughed pretty hard about the cupcakes too-I think I would have been a little like Tyson-Mad- but since I wasn't the one that got tricked I thought it was pretty funny.
