The Hawk

Jake brought home a sparrow hawk the other day that had blown out of her nest. It was the best little bird. She even let Katie hold her and play with her. They are illegal to keep so we had to let her go, but it took a couple days for her to leave. She couldn't fly at first because she was to young, but the second day she started to fly but didn't want to. After the 4th day of us putting her outside on the swing set and her not flying away, she finally flew to the neighbors roof, where she stayed all day, and then flew from there. Jake was really sad to have her leave and so was Katie.
But, now Jake is studying to get his falconry apprenticeship so he can legally have a hawk and eventually an eagle. Honestly, I'm so not looking forward to that. Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple pictures of the hawk, she was a good bird and pretty.
