Welcome 2011!

So it is a week into the new year and I am posting for the first time in several months. But, I am determined to blog frequently this year. I absolutely love my 2008 blog book I had made and wish I had continued through 2009 and 2010, but this year will be different.

There is no sense in looking back at 2010. I am going to start fresh with 2011 and continue strong.

So far this year.....

We celebrated the New Year at our home with the kids. We had root beer floats and counted down with New York so we could put the kids down to bed earlier. It was fun. We also played Trouble and Snorta. Happy Birthday Mom!!!

On Sunday I actually got to attend Relief Society because they called another pianist for primary so we can trade off. It was a nice break but I actually missed primary. And, they asked me to teach the lesson in Relief Society next week. I am a little nervous because I have never taught an adult class before. We will see how it goes......

Katie started back to school on Monday but Jake still had the day off. I was nervous about Katie going back to school with her expanders in her mouth but she seemed to handle lunch fine and didn't have any problems. She came home looking like a bus hit her and totally exhausted though.

Tuesday the year finally started to feel like we were back on schedule and things were going good. Tyson went to school, I was able to get my workout in and my study time, and even some shopping trips. Then, Jake calls to say he is headed to the field tomorrow. Oh well, it is a short trip and I need to take everything one day at a time.

So, anyway, our week has been pretty uneventful and maybe that is okay. We had a great Family Night on Monday and talked about what our family's goals were going to be for this year. We all decided it was going to be to save money and learn different ways to save by NOT spending it or going without. It should be an interesting year........

I don't ever set New Year's Resolutions because I like to wait and set my goals on my birthday. That is my new year and that is when I like to evaluate my previous year and look forward to another great year. This year is my 30th and I will have lots of looking back to do......... Jake will be in Georgia for my birthday so I get to eat the whole cake!!!!! (I always try and find something positive in everything)

Well, here's to a great year and the first of many posts in 2011!!!
